After choosing
to follow Christ at an outreach meeting, this woman was delivered
from 3 demons. In so doing, her expression changed from stupified
oppression to joyful freedom, in Jesus' name! |
|
|
As Chris removes
this man's tiatha (a cord of bondage to a chosen 'god'
or demon) from his wrist, this deaf and dumb man is just seconds
away from his healing through the name of Jesus! |
|
|
A typical church
meeting - although in a far better than average church building. |
|
|
A different
form of meeting place - a canopy stretched between believers' homes.
Here the church waits on the Lord in response to a Heavenfire message.
Men are out of sight at the back! |
|
|
Chris is picking
up many useful words and phrases in Telugu (local language), but
still needs a good interpretor, like our Pastor Bhanu here. UK viewers
old enough to remember Sandy Shaw will notice the bare feet too.
This is a standard part of Indian church practice, coming from a
theology of being on 'holy ground'. |

A typical rural
scene: woman gathered by the stream to wash clothes in the shade
of a small coconut tree. |
|
|
A litle more
of the typical beauty of rural India, here looking across cultivated
fields to an exposed river bed which, in monsoon season, becomes
a raging flood half a mile wide and perhaps 30 feet deep! |
|
|
Another typical
scene: a lake on the outskirts of a rural town |

Oil rigs and
fishing boats share the seas near Kakinada on southeast India's
coast. |

Fire falls as people seek a
closer meeting with Jesus! |
|
|
Even before
prayer or laying on of hands for healing, this man testifies to
having been healed of his chronic post-operation heart pain simply
through hearing the Word! |
|
|
After preaching, people queue
to give testimony of healing and deliverance received by the power
of the word and the name of Jesus, without 'prayer' or laying on
of hands. |
|
|
This young woman
ran out from her home to testify to complete healing from diagnosed
breast cancer, by Jesus, at our meeting the previous night. She
had been suffering with this for 2 years, unable to afford treatment. |

|
Many village children don't have proper nutrition, so we provide
celebration meals. Many also (like this girl dressed in purple)
have no shoes, or cannot afford education. This too is part of our
programme to help this emerging generation.

'As I went
down in the river to pray...' .
Like in the old gospel song, or a scene from 'O Brother Where
Art Thou?' , a baptism procession makes its way down to the
river. |
|

Preparing for baptism on another
occasion. In the background, under the trees, buffalo are being
washed ... |

Over
150 delegates to the HeavenFire
Pastors' Conference 2004 - the numbers limited only
by venue and the funding available. Help us make it 500! |

Emelia
was carried onto the platform as she was crippled by polio from
birth. Her faith allowed her to hope to walk with the aid of crutches.
In Jesus' name, she received this. "According to your faith
will it be done to you" (Mt 9:29) |

On
the way to school each day, the children call at the Pastor's house
for a blessing. What a blessing the children are to the visiting
pastor, too! |
|
|
It's
great to see children happy. These children - (l-r) Pradip, Nagana,
& Nasim - all have a special reason. A few moments earlier they
were deaf and dumb. Now they are healed - hearing and speaking,
because of the blood of Jesus! |

This church
building was recently completed (2004) because of help from Heavenfire
supporters. The church is thriving! Here, Sister Ajoke Ayonrinde,
now a Director of Heavenfire Ministries, (standing, left) prepares
to help with ministry . |

This
isolated village has experienced rapid Christian conversion since
we visited in 2003 (the first time any outsider had preached there).
Now Pastor Yesupadam (pictured front left with wife Jemima) are
building a bigger building for the church, with help from Heavenfire.
Chris laid the foundation stone for it. |

Das

supporters. 'The sweetest [cleanest] water we've tasted' a neighbour
said! |

An old
man proudly displays his buffalo and calf, presented to him thanks
to the generosity of Heavenfire supporters. Raju Rao (aged 70, he
thinks), said "You have saved my life. I am an old man with
no means to earn enough to live, and you have given me and my family
life." |

Where
do you keep a pan that size - and who washes it?
The man is preparing pilau rice for a special family celebration. |

This
seemingly-idyllic setting shelters many dangers - snakes, scorpions
and disease-spreading mosquitoes - that our brothers and sisters
need to be constantly alert to. |

Child
labour is a fact of life in India. At least in this poppadum factory
the girls (aged 7-12) are working for a Christian woman and are
happy and well-cared for. |
